Splish Splash...

I had a an idea a while back about shooting dancers in a thin pool of water with high speed strobes.  Finally got some time to put it together, and was able to schedule it at the same time we were testing a high speed video camera.  We were able to put a quick clip together from the footage with the test camera, below, along with some behind the scenes footage.  Props to all the dancers for loaning us their amazing talent, it was a crazy fun day.  Images and videos after the jump.

Capturing Liquid Gold

Greg was in the studio making some movin' pictures recently, so we thought you might like to see what he's been up to. As an added bonus, we'll give you a peek at some of the elaborate rigging and setup that goes into his beer shoots. See the stills after the break.

The Nadas - Long Goodbye Music Video

We just finished putting the final touches on the music video we made for The Nadas. Due to the band's busy tour schedule, we only had about a half of day to shoot them, so we had four cameras rolling on every take. The storyline was shot later (also in one day) on location. All footage was shot with Canon 5D Mark IIs and 7Ds and Canon glass.

Check out The Nadas' newest album, Almanac, on iTunes.

Mandi also got some great behind the scenes stills that you can see after the break.
UPDATE: We've added more BTS stills from the farm location, courtesy of James and Steve.

In the Garage

Eric was on location recently shooting some nifty garage accessories for some pretty serious showroom displays. The trick was to get all the pieces to line up life-sized so they could be printed at 8 ft. by 14 ft. The displays will use the photos as a backdrop for the actual Craftsman cabinets to interact with. Keep an eye out at your local Sears store for the final product.

Upside Downy Face: The Original Series

Although we uploaded The Upside Downy Face Original Series photos to our web gallery, we thought we'd throw them up here for even easier access. Included are the 12 images shown at the Tin Can on Friday night, plus the other 8 images that we couldn't fit into the space.

Nintendo DSI on Tour

It's always cool to see your projects come together in the real world. And this time, it was larger than life. We did a shoot for the new Nintendo DSi-- which is a fancy new handheld video game/social networking/goofing off device that has been updated with a camera and all sorts of fun editing tools.

Anyway, we did a day of shooting models playing around with these things and making goofy faces. In the end, the images were put together to make the wrapper for the DSi Tour Bus, which went all over the place to demo the new device. Lots more pics after the jump.

Floatin' Part II

We just got word that Syreah from Stella Mora put together a video from the shoot we did with them a couple weeks back. Guess who's on the soundtrack...

Floatin'

Did you know our friend Jim Harper (of 4 Alarm Studio fame) is in a band called Stella Mora? Did you know that we had a trampoline? Did you know that this is the same formula I used on my last blog post, but written with words instead of math?

Well this is what you get: delightful, floaty swimmingness.

Now Playing: St. John's Mercy TV Spot

Not too long ago, our friends at Waylon Advertising approached us with a very unique project-- to create a 30-second TV spot from still images. To add a little spice, they also noted that we would be shooting on location at the nursery at St. John's Mercy Hospital (read: limited production access), and that we would need to turn around the images (we'd need hundreds of stills to fill a 30-second spot) in less than a day.

Now Playing: Behind The Scenes of Greg's Exploding Martini shoot

Over the winter, Greg put together a pretty killer book shot we called "The Exploding Martini." Over the summer, we put together the behind-the-scenes footage so you can get a glimpse of what went into this complex production.

Enjoy.

Out on the Plains

While on location for an agricultural client, Greg got a chance to shoot some wholesome midwest landscapes. Greg and Matt made their way through western Nebraska and over the border into Colorado. Here's a sampling of the week's photography-- the above selection is from the commercial shoot. Hit the jump to see some of Greg's personal work from the week.

Sap-tastic!

Short shorts,  cheap beer, rock n’ roll, and tube socks--  four things in life with which you can never go wrong. Miraculously, all four collided for an amazing photo shoot Brandon did with The Saps, a killer band from Chicago, IL. The Saps rocked our world the minute they swaggered onto the racquetball court with their heads held high and their dignity left at the door. We had a blast shooting them, and they’re coming to St. Louis on Friday (May 30) for a show at The Underground. It’s guaranteed to be chock-full of fun and debauchery. Check out their Myspace page for more details.

Thanks again to Dan, Dan, Joey & Ryan for a great time and some breathtaking pictures! Yes, I said breathtaking…

Rock on!
